The Club Through History
intro
Our Future
start

Our origins
Barney, Fulmodeston and Thursford Food Production Club was formed in 1941 – prompted by the “Dig for Victory” campaign which was an answer to the threat of starvation posed by the second Word War. The objective of the three villages was to foster “good gardening”.
Since then the Club has evolved, giving an annual programme of events and activities throughout the year, as well as an Annual Show.

Our activities
The Annual Show has been a highlight of every year with displays of flowers, plants, fruit and vegetables. Preserved items continue to be a feature of the Show as do domestic classes - cookery and handicrafts. Most recently a homemade upcycled item has been part of the Show.
Other well supported events include the Annual Seed Swap Social and the Annual Plant Sale. The Sale is the main source of income for the Club.
